Guyana

In February I was hired to travel to Guyana to document the craft-making of indigenous Amerindian communities. The project was organized by the Iwokrama International Centre for Rain Forest Conservation and Development which hopes to offer an alternative to forestry by promoting the country’s craft industry.
I travelled to three communities, varying in size from 200 - 1,200 residents in the country’s isolated savanna and forest interior environments.

Last week I was accepted to SAIC’s MFA program in Photography!
I’ll be starting the two-year program in September. It is an excellent and challenging program and exactly where I want to be.
